As a response to requests for late night food options, Grinnell College in Iowa had added smart cooler vending machines in two locations on campus, according to a report in The Scarlet & Black student newspaper.
The smart coolers sell everything from edible cookie dough to cottage cheese. They were installed over the winter break and replaced existing machines.
"The installation of vending machines is a direct response to student feedback that late-night food options were not readily available," Jeanette Moser, director of dining services, told the news outlet. "The addition of Smart Cooler vending machines, placed in these key locations, addresses the need for quick meal options not previously offered by the vending companies on campus."
The vending machines were added in a partnership with Mahaska Vending Services.
