Golden Flake chip factory closes in Alabama

The Golden Flake snack factory in Birmingham, Alabama recently closed after more than a century, according to an al.com report.

Utz Quality Foods Inc., which owns the Golden Flake brand, now manufactures the products in its Pennsylvania facilities.

The final Golden Flake chips were produced in Birmingham on June 9 with an Oct. 16 expiration date.
