GE refrigerator with Keurig brewer, K-Cup, Single-Cup coffee trendsLOUISVILLE, KY -- GE Appliance's new Café Series refrigerator features a built-in Keurig K-Cup brewing system and is said to be the first to market with hot single-cup beverages available from a refrigerator door.

Pairing the appliance with a Keurig brewer is an evolution of GE's Café French door refrigerator's unique hot water dispenser.

Louisville, KY-based GE reported that two-thirds of surveyed users of its Café French door refrigerator who have the hot water feature said they'd be interested in a single-serve hot beverage dispenser, which inspired the company and Waterbury, VT-based Keurig Green Mountain to pursue the development of the industry-first, built-in, single-serve brewing system from a refrigerator.

The system frees up counter space and uses fresh, filtered water every time with no need to refill. It is easily removed for cleaning and is dishwasher safe.

GE connected technology allows consumers to preset the brew time via their mobile device so the water in the reservoir is ready and waiting.

The stainless steel Café French door refrigerator with Keurig K-Cup brewing system has an MSRP of $3,300 and will be available in the third quarter of 2015.
