Frito-Lay's latest U.S. Snack Index reveals conumers are excited to get out and about this summer, but that some pandemic behaviors are sticking around for good, according to a press release. With snacks being the No. 2 food contributor to sales growth at retail, the latest Frito-Lay U.S. Snack Index shows how consumers' snacking and shopping habits will look this summer.

Findings include:

  • Consumers are increasingly returning to pre-pandemic habits with 88% of people making regular grocery store trips (up 14% from 2020).
  • E-commerce continues to grow, with 53% of people buying their snacks online — signaling that this pandemic trend may be here to stay.
