SAN DIEGO, CA -- Fresh Healthy Vending International Inc. said the American Diabetes Association will recommend its vending machines and micromarkets to workplaces participating in ADA's new "Wellness Lives Here" program through its new alliance with the organization.

ADA launched Wellness Lives Here in celebration of its 75th anniversary to educate and motivate people to adopt healthful habits in the workplace and beyond to reduce the impact of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Through their partnership in the program, FHV will pay ADA a fee for each location it refers for placement of its vending machines and micromarkets, along with a commission percentage that ADA will use toward its continued research into diabetes. In exchange, FHV will gain locations that already have a stated interest in helping employees to make better-for-you snack choices.

FHV chairman Nick Yates said the company's nationwide network of franchise operators will allow the program to be scaled easily across the country.

"Stopping diabetes requires that we educate people about healthier choices and figure out ways to make those healthy choices viable in our busy lives," said ADA associate director of fundraising and special events John Correia. "Our partnership with FHV gives us a turnkey solution for companies who value wellness and have a busy workforce."
