RADNOR, PA -- FreedomPay said its commerce platform has been approved as a EMV payment gateway for First Data Corp.'s payment solutions. Atlanta-based First Data reportedly serves six million merchants around the world, the largest footprint in the payments industry.
FreedomPay certified for EMV uses credit card terminals from Ingenico Group with SRED (Secured Reading and Exchange of Data) functionality that encrypts card data at the point of interaction. EMV-ready devices on FreedomPay's platform include those for unattended kiosks, retail stores and restaurants. The EMV certification includes signature capture support and offline functionality. The platform also enables a range of commerce solutions including dynamic currency conversion, real-time incentives, NFC mobile wallet transactions and secure online payments.

Micromarket manufacturer 365 Retail Markets announced in 2013 that it had partnered with FreedomPay to enable patrons to establish online accounts, and then use key fobs or company badges incorporating FreedomPay's RFID contactless technology to store account balances and make purchases at its kiosks. | READ MORE
