FreeWater, an Austin, Texas based company that makes money by printing advertisements on aluminum bottles and paper cartons of natural spring water, plans to introduce vending machines that will offer natural spring water for free, according to a press release.
Leading what they call the "giving economy," the company donates 10 cents per beverage to build water wells for people in need.
The company, which reached 100 million social media impressions within a year, has launched a crowdfunding campaign on FundRazr to finance free vending machines and the company's global expansion.
"Free vending machines will be a key role of FreeWater's future distribution model," Josh Cliffords, founder, said in the press release. "Our mobile app will limit users to one to three free drinks/snacks per person daily. Free vending machines will be emptied daily and each location will donate between $10,000 to $36,000 to charity annually."
