Flowers Foods taps PepsiCo’s James Simms as EVP/DSD

Flowers Foods Inc. has named James Simms executive vice president of direct store distribution sales operations, according to a press release. In this newly created role, Simms reports to Heeth Varnedoe, president and chief operating officer.

Simms joins Flowers from PepsiCo Inc., where he held a variety of sales leadership roles with increasing responsibility over the last 20 years. Most recently, he served as vice president, PepsiCo customer lead, where he was accountable for strategic growth with retailers.
