Flowers Foods names Penny Patterson-Smith its first CIO

Flowers Foods Inc. has promoted Penny Patterson-Smith from senior vice president of cake brands to chief innovation officer, a newly created position, according to a LinkedIn notice.

Prior to joining Flowers Foods in 2020, she brings more than 30 years of experience working with consumer packaged goods companies, including Kraft/Nabisco, Mars Inc. and The Hershey Co.
