Flowers Foods names new COO

Flowers Foods, Inc., producer of Mrs. Freshleys, Tastykake and other bakery foods, announced that Bradley Alexander, chief operating officer, will retire from the company after 41 years of service on Dec. 31, according to a press release. Heeth Varnedoe, the company's current chief transformation officer, will succeed Alexander as chief operating officer.
