LEESBURG, FL -- A Florida man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a coin-operated kiddie ride.

According to local reports, Cesar Alexis Diaz, 27, was apprehended after he allegedly dragged a horse-themed kiddie ride away from its Leesburg, FL, location by its power cord, traveling several blocks before breaking into the cashbox door. Captured on a video surveillance camera, Diaz was easily identified by his distinctive Superman T-shirt and was taken into custody a short time later.

The equine coin machine theft, which is alleged to have netted Diaz approximately $40, is notable for its brazenness and lack of planning. He was charged with "petit theft, criminal mischief and molesting a vending machine."

At press time, Diaz was being held in the Lake County Jail in lieu of $4,500 bail.
