Flatline Readies Jurassic World Stickers For Vending As Film Shatters Records

APPLETON, WI -- "Jurassic World" is a hit, and Flatline Corp. is ready to meet the surge in demand by fans for graphics commemorating the latest installment of the genetically recreated dinosaur saga.

The fourth movie in the blockbuster franchise raked in more than $208.8 million during its opening weekend in North America, beating initial estimates of a $100 million debut. That's one for the record books, surpassing Marvel's "The Avengers," which took in $207.4 million at its 2012 opening. "Jurassic World" is also the first film to gross more than $500 million -- that's half a billion dollars -- worldwide in a single weekend.

This is all good news, pointing to a strong and sustained life in theaters and aftermarket media. Flatline regards it as particularly good news, since the company is preparing to ship a licensed line of Jurassic World stickers.

The new flat vending series features 10 of the film's most awe-inspiring prehistoric beasts, including the ever-popular Velociraptor, in a crowd-pleasing collectible format. Each sticker includes one large image of a dinosaur "star," along with up to three smaller peel-off creature graphics.

"Instead of making the traditional sticker series, which depicts most of the [human] characters, we decided to focus on the dinosaurs," said Flatline's Ryan Burns. "Because, let's face it, the dinosaurs are the coolest part of the movie."

Although the stickers won't start shipping until the fourth week in June (the target date is the 22nd), Burns does not see this delay as a negative. "We've found that if you release too far ahead of the movie, it doesn't go well," he explained. "It takes a little bit of time after the movie opens to generate the buzz."
