CHATTANOOGA, TN -- Five Star Food Service, a Canteen Vending franchise, said it has completed full or partial acquisition of three vending and office coffee service companies in Georgia and Tennessee.

In June, Five Star acquired the portion of Hiram, GA-based Elite Vending Co. that included the majority of the business managed inside of a four-county overlap of Five Star's Canteen Vending franchise territory. Elite will continue to operate and serve its metro Atlanta customers in Fulton, Cobb, Douglas and Clayton counties, where Five Star does not currently operate.

In July, Five Star's acquisition of Complete Vending included the Rome, GA-based company's entire five-route vending and office coffee service operation, covering seven counties.

The largest of the three acquisitions involved Murfreesboro, TN-based Webb's Refreshments, which sold its complete eight-route vending and micromarket business to Five Star in early August. Webb's retained its office coffee and water service divisions.

Five Star said the series of acquisitions allows it to "consolidate the competitive landscape within its current operating footprint and continue its pace of growth." In addition, Five Star said it sees opportunity to grow same-store sales among its new clients while providing the same high level of service provided by its predecessors.

Chattanooga-based Five Star Food Service provides vending, micromarkets, OCS and foodservice across Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. Founded in 1993, the company has grown into one of the largest privately held operators in the Southeast.
