Five Star Food Service acquires Franks Vending in Tennessee

Five Star Food Service Inc., a Canteen franchise based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, has acquired Franks Vending, a vending and micro-market operator in Pulaski, Tennessee, for an undisclosed sum, according to a press release. The acquisition will expand Five Star's presence in the southern middle Tennessee area.

Franks Vending Service was founded in 1946 by E.W. Franks, the father of the late Bobby Franks who took over in 1982. Franks Vending became a Canteen franchise in 2003. Following the recent passing of Bobby Franks, the Franks family and Five Star were committed to completing the already ongoing acquisition.

The Franks family also owns Coca-Cola Bottling Works in Pulaski which it will continue to operate.

David Franks and Debbie (Franks) Gowan, the children of Bobby Franks, will continue to play a role during the transition period.

"We look forward to working alongside the Franks family and building upon the strong foundation and legacy they have established," Richard Kennedy, CEO of Five Star, said in the press release.
