Five Star Breaktime Solutions, a provider of unattended food and beverage solutions, has acquired the Canteen franchise of Wilmore Snack Sales, a family-owned vending service provider based in Shreveport, Louisiana, according to a press release. The acquisition expands Five Star's service area into northern Louisiana and eastern Texas.

Wilmore Snack Sales, established in 1969, operates over 100 micro markets and 2,000 vending machines, providing vending, office coffee and foodservice to businesses in healthcare, manufacturing, telecommunications and other sectors. The company serves the areas of Shreveport, Monroe, Ruston and Natchitoches in Louisiana, as well as Longview, Nacogdoches and Marshall in Texas.

The acquisition allows Five Star Breaktime Solutions to extend its presence in the region, reinforcing its position as a significant convenience services provider. Five Star will now offer its services to the newly acquired areas, continuing Wilmore Snack Sales' existing operations.

"Expanding our geographic footprint is always an exciting opportunity. Jimmy and his family have built a legacy business with deep community ties and lasting relationships. We are grateful to have earned their trust and look forward to continuing to grow this business locally," Mike McLean, Five Star's chief financial officer, said in the release.

As part of its commitment to community engagement, Five Star's foundation, Feeding the Future, will donate $10,000 to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, specifically earmarked for its childhood hunger-focused sack pack program.
