Shoppers in California and Oregon emptied supermarket shelves of water and disinfectant wipes following the first U.S. coronavirus-related death, according to a Yahoo report on Sunday.
After a fourth infected person was announced in Santa Clara County Saturday, shoppers bought up all the water and Clorox wipes at a Costco in Mountain View, California Costco, according to the report.
Shoppers thronged a Costco store near Lake Oswego, emptying shelves of bottled water, frozen berries, black beans, toilet paper and paper towels.
New cases on Sunday were announced in Oregon, Washington state, New York, Rhode Island and Florida on Sunday, bringing the total to 89 in the U.S. as of Monday morning, according to a CNN report.
