Ferrara Candy is constructing a distribution complex in DeKalb, Illinois, which will employ 500 people by spring, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The company is investing more than $100 million in the project, which will be its largest industrial employer, said Bill Nicklas, city manager.
Ferrara has been growing since Italy-based Ferrero Group, its parent company, acquired Kellogg's cookie business in 2019 and Nestle's U.S. confectionery business in 2018.
