Farm-to-fridge vending machines offer meals

The Thoughtful Baking Co., in Charlotte, North Carolina, is operating vending machines offering farm-to-table meals at a local brewery.

The machines are located at Birdsong Brewing, at 1016 North Davidson Street and Traditions at 4317-A Park Road, and stocked with desserts, meals, quiches and small bites, according to a Charlotte Observer report.

The machines are the brainchild of Executive Chef Mary Jayne Wilson.

"You no longer have to choose health or convenience for your family," Wilson said in a news release. "Our meals are ready-to-eat, holistic, and comforting with ingredients harvested right here in North Carolina."
