Ex-Microsoft Exec Ross Honey Is TouchTunes New President And COO

NEW YORK CITY -- TouchTunes has appointed Ross Honey its new president and chief operating officer. Honey will be based in TouchTunes' New York City office, where he will oversee the jukebox company's core operational functions. He will report directly to chairman and chief executive Charles Goldstuck.

Honey comes to TouchTunes from Microsoft Corp., where for the past 10 years he held several leadership positions in content, product management and advertising. One of those posts was general manager of Xbox Advertising and Entertainment. Prior to Microsoft, Honey was the vice-president of strategy and business development at Scholastic Media, the TV, film and software division of Scholastic Inc. Before that, he was a management consultant in the media and entertainment practice of Booz-Allen & Hamilton.

"Ross has an extensive background in digital media and entertainment that is a perfect fit for TouchTunes," Goldstuck said. "His vast experience will help us to continue executing on our strategy of innovation and market expansion, supporting our position as a market leader and an engine for industry growth."

Among TouchTunes' operational areas for which Honey is now responsible are sales, marketing, engineering, product management and music, as well as the firm's Attract Media advertising group.

TouchTunes digital jukeboxes are installed and serviced by independent vending operators. Its total North American and European unit base is more than 71,000. TouchTunes' mobile, which allows patrons to purchase songs for play on jukeboxes, has been downloaded more than four million times.
