Eurospar Hartstown launches Ireland’s first reverse vending machine

Eurospar Hartstown has installed the first Envipco Quantum reverse vending machine in Ireland, providing a way for the local community to recycle beverage containers, according to a press release.

The machine, which is located in a Eurospar store in Dublin, can process up to 120 containers per minute using a bulk-feed system, making the recycling process faster and more convenient for shoppers. The initiative is part of the store's broader sustainability efforts, which include energy-efficient lighting and solar panels.

"We're proud to be the first in Ireland to introduce this innovative solution, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and our role as a responsible community retailer." Chris Furey, chief executive, Furey Smyth Eurospar Group, said in the release.
