European vending operators cite rising demand for bottled water

More than half of European vending operators report bottled water sales have increased in the last five years, according to a European Vending Association survey.

Close to half said demand has increased for water dispensers, according to a press release on the survey.

Forty-two percent of operators report PET bottles are the only type of water bottle in their machines.

The study's objective was to understand how bottled water is currently provided in the vending industry, if new formats for bottled water are being used and to what extent, and to see if European and national policies focused on sustainability are impacting the demand for water in vending machines.
