European Drinking Water Cooler Associations Tradeshow Sells Out

LONDON -- The European Drinking Water Cooler Association reports that its 2016 tradeshow has sold all its available exhibit space, more than a month in advance of its opening. The EDWCA event is set for June 28 (Tuesday) at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel here.

This year's show is being held in conjunction with the Vendies, an annual awards program for the vending and water industries organized by Datateam Business Media and Vending International, a trade magazine. According to the organizers, the exhibit sold out in a matter of days.

Formerly called the Vending Industry Awards, the Vendies program recognizes and rewards the success, innovation and technology of the past 12 months.

With input from the industry, the Vendies is implementing some changes. Every other year, beginning in 2016, it will be for manufacturers and suppliers only. In the alternate years, beginning in 2017, it will accompany AVEX, the biennial tradeshow organized by the Automatic Vending Association (Great Britain and Ireland).

Those alternate-year events will include categories for operators, manufacturers, suppliers and individuals, and will culminate in presentation of the Vending Industry Lifetime Achievement Award.

Next year's AVEX takes place Sept. 12-13, 2017, at the NEC Birmingham. EDWCA has partnered with AVEX since 2009.
