TULSA, OK -- Police in Tulsa, OK, have a suspect in custody thanks to the bravery and swift action of Imperial Company employees. Tulsa County Sheriff's deputies took John Crandall, 27, into custody after receiving a call from Imperial, a vending operation headquartered here, about an armed man in the company's building, according to a local News On 6 report.
Deputies learned that Imperial's manager allowed Crandall into the company's building when he asked to use the phone, but then tackled him after finding out he had a gun, News On 6 reported. When officers arrived, Imperial employees reportedly had Crandall isolated in a secured area and had taken the gun from him.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old gunshot victim, in critical condition, had shown up at a Tulsa hospital. Police learned that an altercation had led to the shooting and identified Crandall as the suspect. When they located him, he was already in the county jail after being arrested at Imperial Vending.
Crandall reportedly has four prior felony convictions, including three for possession of a stolen vehicle.
