El Paso bakery installs cake-in-a-cup vending machines

The Cake Boutique, an El Paso, Texas bakery, has expanded its reach to vending machines offering cake packaged in a can for $6.50, according to an elpasoinc.com report.

The owners of the bakery were inspired after seeing different types of canned foods in vending machines in Japan.

The cans are hand-filled with handmade cake and frosting, featuring flavors such as banana, strawberry and red velvet, then sealed. The machine also sells macarons.

The company has machines at Mesilla Valley Mall in Las Cruces, at Bassett Place near Target in El Paso and at Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso in front of BoxLunch Gifts.

The company has gained 5.5 million views of a TikTok video and is considering expansion in Texas and New Mexico.
