Danone to acquire US plant-based foods company Earth Island

Danone has agreed to buy Earth Island, a U.S. plant-based foods provider, in an effort to boost plant based sales from €2 billion ($2.43 billion) to €5 billion ($6.1 billion) of plant-based sales worldwide by 2025, according to a Reuters report.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Earth Island brands include "Follow Your Heart" and "Vegenaise."
