NEW YORK CITY -- The Digital Place Based Advertising Association said Crane Merchandising Systems, a Crane Co. company, has joined the organization.
Crane added video screens as standard equipment on vending machines worldwide last year with the introduction of the Media platform. Crane also provides software and services to leverage the capabilities of the machines to boost product sales and redefine the consumer experience, such as interactive shopping carts, multiple electronic and mobile payment options, and targeted point-of-sale advertisements.
"We look forward to working closely with Crane Merchandising Systems to provide them with the tools and knowledge to help make Media a success with advertisers," said DPAA president and chief executive Barry Frey.
Crane Merchandising Systems president Alan Hollis said Media will help usher in and accelerate a new age, leveraging technology to improve the overall consumer shopping experience and provide a new opportunity for advertisers. "We joined DPAA to gain insights into best practices and access to their deep reservoir of research and other valuable data," Hollis said.
Founded in 2006, the Digital Place Based Advertising Association represents digital place-based networks by promoting their role in the "video everywhere" ecosystem. It fosters collaboration between agencies and digital place-based networks and provides standards, best practices and industrywide research.
DPAA's eighth annual Video Everywhere Summit will be held at the Crowne Plaza in New York City on Nov. 3, providing insight into the rapidly growing digital place-based sector.
