Crane Co Licenses Panasonic Vending Technology From SEC Vend Technologies

OTTAWA, ON, Canada -- WiLan said its SEQ Vend Technologies Inc. subsidiary has entered into a patent license agreement with Crane Co. WiLan owns technology related to vending machine systems, which it acquired from Panasonic in 2014.

Headquartered in Stamford, CT, Crane Co. is a global manufacturer of highly engineered industrial products. One segment, Crane Merchandising Systems, is the nation's largest maker and developer of vending machines, software systems and cashless payments technology.

WiLan said the license resolves litigation pending in the District of California. It did not disclose terms of its agreement with Crane Co.

A patent licensing company based in Ottawa, WiLan operates in several industries, including automotive, digital television, Internet, medical, semiconductor and wireless communication technologies.
