Council Bluffs, Iowa residents have a new way to access books with the installation of a library kiosk at Cochran Park. The kiosk, located at the corner of First Avenue and 22nd Street, functions like a vending machine, allowing patrons to check out library materials at any time, according to a 6 News report.
"The kiosk is a reflection of our commitment to innovative access to literature and learning," a Council Bluffs Public Library representative told the news outlet.
The kiosk boasts a collection of 235 books, including a mix of youth, young adult and adult fiction and nonfiction titles. DVDs are also available for checkout.
The project was made possible with contributions from the Iowa West Foundation, the Community Foundation for Western Iowa, the library foundation and friends of the library.
