The Convenience Distribution Association is partnering with the International Foodservice Distributors Association and others in the industry to connect businesses that may have excess capacity with those that have a need that may be filled through partnership, according to a press release. Examples include warehouse space, transportation, product and manpower.
Companies matched through this program will receive the contact information for the other company and vice-versa.
Matches are made manually for requests based on geography and area of capacity.
The IFDA has also partnered with the Food Marketing Institute-Food Industry Association on a program to connect foodservice distributors that have excess capacity (products, transportation services, warehousing services) to assist food retailers and wholesalers that require additional resources to fulfill needs at grocery stores, which are experiencing higher demand triggered by COVID-19.
