LAS VEGAS -- Passersby on the Las Vegas strip were invited to test the power of their punch at a special vending machine as part of a promotion for the record-breaking fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather on Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena.
The super fight was one of the most-hyped events in modern sports history. In case you missed it, Mayweather defeated McGregor, improving his boxing record to 50-0 and breaking the mark he shared with former heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano (49-0) for most wins without a loss or tie in boxing history.
BSN, a maker of sports nutrition products, sponsors Conor McGregor, a mixed martial arts fighter, and was behind the publicity stunt. TV personality Mario Lopez was on hand to introduce the "Conor McGregor Punch & Crunch" vending experience to consumers outside the legendary Tropicana. McGregor's voice challenged and encouraged consumers to test the power of their punch to yield one of BSN's Syntha-6 Crisp bars.
Consumers were also invited to test their strength and train in an outside mini-gym. The three-part challenge consisted of jump rope, sit-ups and pushups for a chance to win BSN products for a year. Consumers were treated to product samplings and giveaways, too.
