WASHINGTON, DC -- Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI) and a dozen of his Congressional colleagues sent a letter to the FDA praising the agency's proposed calorie disclosure regulation.

National Automatic Merchandising Association director of state and federal government affairs Jason S. Eberstein said recruiting Congressional support for the letter was a key part of legislative meetings during the industry's Fly-In on Capitol Hill in July.

"This level of interest -- support from more than a dozen members of Congress -- would not have been possible without your personal appeal during the NAMA Fly-In," Eberstein wrote in a letter to Fly-In participants. "This letter will guide the FDA in its rulemaking, and hopefully yield the result that NAMA has been fighting for over the past few years."
