Congress passed legislation last week to codify a contract with the railroads to avoid a rail strike and supply chain disruptions, according to the National Automatic Merchandising Association's weekly legislative roundup. Railroad companies and labor unions have not been able to agree on a new contract.
NAMA, as part of the Food and Beverage Issue Alliance, has been educating lawmakers on how a rail shutdown would damage the convenience services industry's supply chain.
