CHARLOTTE, NC -- Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated has promoted Robert G. Chambless, James E. Harris and David M. Katz to executive vice-presidents, and Clifford M. Deal III to senior vice-president and chief financial officer. The appointments are effective April 1.
Chambless has been promoted to executive vice-president of franchise strategy and operations. He will oversee all of the company's sales, marketing and distribution operations. Chambless was most recently senior vice-president of sales, field operations and marketing and has served in various roles since joining the company in 1986.
Advancing to executive vice-president of business transformation, Harris will oversee Coke Consolidated's ongoing growth through acquisition of additional distribution territory as well as other strategic initiatives. Harris has served as chief financial officer since joining the company in January 2008.
Katz has been promoted to executive vice-president of human resources and product supply and assistant to the chairman. He joined the bottler in 2013 as a senior vice-president. Prior to joining Coke Consolidated, Katz served in multiple roles with Coca-Cola Refreshments and its predecessor, Coca-Cola Enterprises.
Deal succeeds Harris in his new post. He has been the company's vice-president and treasurer since 1999, and joined the company in 1993. Prior to Coke Consolidated, he worked in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Charlotte-based Coca-Cola Consolidated is the nation's largest independent Coca-Cola bottler.
