Coinstar, BBC Children in Need celebrate 20-year partnership, raise over $2M

Coinstar and BBC Children in Need are celebrating a 20-year partnership with total donations surpassing £1.6 million ($2.07 million), according to a press release. Coinstar and BBC Children in Need work together to promote the Make Life Lighter campaign. according to a press release.

In addition to offering the option of coin donation at their Coinstar kiosks, Coinstar commemorated 20 years of partnership with BBC Children in Need by participating in Yorkshire 3-Peaks Challenge in September, walking 24 miles in 12 hours and raising a total of £2,200 ($2,852) through sponsorship.

"It is a privilege to present the £1.6 million to BBC Children in Need and help support their fantastic work across the UK, supporting children and young people to thrive and be the best they can be," Sarah Chappell, business development manager at Coinstar, said in the release.

"I'd also like to say a massive thank you to every member of the public who has donated their coins for the last 20 years, using a Coinstar kiosk to deposit and count their coins. Your generosity is amazing."
