Coinco Canada Unveils Iris-Based Certified Cashless Payment System

CONCORD, ON, Canada -- Coin Acceptors Canada has announced the availability of a fully certified Interac Flash, Visa PayWave and MasterCard PayPass payment terminal based on its iris vending telemeter.

According to the manufacturer, the new "iris Media" telemeter will work with all three of Canada's major telecom carrier networks and automatically select the best network for a location's area, assuring the best connection around the clock. Multiple bezel solutions are available for the iris Media readers, giving operators the ability to customize every location without adding or changing machines.

"The iris Media telemeter and iris Reader bezel provide the quality cashless and data platform that our customers have come to expect from Coinco," the company said.

According to Coinco, Interac Flash is Canada's most popular cashless option for low-value cashless transactions. It's supported by the Interac Association, a recognized world leader in debit card services that began in 1984 as a cooperative project among the Royal Bank of Canada, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Scotiabank, Toronto-Dominion Bank and Desjardins. Today, the system allows Canadians to access their money through Interac Cash at 65,000 automated banking machines, and conduct retail transactions with Interac Debit at 766,000 point-of-sale terminals across Canada.

Interac Flash is a contactless enhancement of Interac Debit designed to make everyday debit purchases faster and more convenient. Customers can "Pay in a Flash" by holding their cards up to Coinco Interac Flash-enabled readers to make their vending purchases.
