Coffee prices in Europe Union countries spiked 16.9% on average in August over the 2021 price, along with sugar and milk, according to data from Eurostat, the European Union's statistics office, Reuters reported.
Fresh whole milk jumped 24.3% on average, Eurostat said.
Sugar saw the biggest increase at 33.4%.
Prices rose for these items in all EU member nations except Malta, where fresh low-fat milk did not change.
Finland and Lithuania suffered the biggest coffee price lifts, at 43.6% and 39.9% respectively, followed by Estonia and Sweden.
Poland suffered the biggest sugar price jump at 109.2%
The 19 euro zone countries suffered a 9.1% bump in consumer prices in August, pushed by food and energy prices, hitting a record high of 10% in September.
