Coffee consumption worldwide is expected to fall for the first time since 2011, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Bloomberg reported. The decline is occurring despite a surge in bean buying at supermarkets since traffic is down at cafes and restaurants that normally account for a quarter of the demand.
Marex Spectron, a researcher, estimated more than 95% of the out-of-home market was affected during the pandemic.
