A recent analysis points to a link between coffee consumption and a reduced risk of atrial fibrillation, according to a labroots.com report.
The dose-response meta-analysis covered 10 studies of close to 1 million participants who had more than 10 years of follow up.
Pooled results indicated that a cup per day increase in coffee consumption was significantly linked to a decreased risk of AF in healthy participants. The relationship was also observed when factors such as gender, age, body mass index, alcohol intake, diabetes and smoking status were accounted for.
