The Coca-Cola Co. will launch a ready-to-drink 12-ounce coffee product in January and will also enter the hard seltzer market.
The company will introduce a product called Coca-Cola With Coffee that fuses the taste of Coca-Cola with 100% Brazilian coffee, the company announced in a press release. It will include three flavors: Dark Blend, Vanilla and Caramel.
"This is a truly unique hybrid innovation that will pioneer a new category we're calling refreshment coffee," Jaideep Kibe, vice president, Coca-Cola Trademark, Coca-Cola North America, said in the press release.
Members of the company's Coca-Cola Insiders Club will have the opportunity taste the product ahead of its official launch. The beverage subscription service, which launched in December 2019, gives 2,000 "Insiders" the chance to sign up to receive some of Coke's newest drinks.
The coffee product was first piloted in Japan in 2018 and is now available in more than 30 markets around the world, including Australia, Brazil, Vietnam, Turkey and Italy. Each country, and the U.S. is no different, tailors the Coca-Cola® With Coffee recipe and packaging mix to meet local tastes.
The company also announced its entry into the hard seltzer market with a product called Topo Chico Hard Seltzer, according to a press release. The product is an experimental drink inspired by Topo Chico sparkling mineral water, which the company said has been popular with many mixologists.
Topo Chico Hard Seltzer will be offered in select cities in Latin America later this year.
