Coca-Cola to close Texas plant, lay off 76

The Coca-Cola Co. will close its manufacturing and distribution plant in Grand Prairie, Texas, by April 15 as part of a consolidation effort, laying off 76 workers, the company advised state officials, according to a freightwaves.com report.

The positions being cut include logistics managers, warehouse workers and truck drivers.

The company advised state officials it will move its water production form three fadcilities to an independent partner, Niagara Bottling Co.
