Coca-Cola will permanently close its bottling plant in American Canyon, Napa County, by June 30, impacting 135 jobs, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report. The facility, operational since 1994 and producing beverages like Powerade and Minute Maid, is being shuttered as part of Coca-Cola's asset right strategy to focus on brand management.
"We did not make this decision lightly and are grateful to have had the opportunity to have been a part of the American Canyon community," a company spokesperson told the news outlet.
Workers are being encouraged to seek other positions within the Coca-Cola system or with third-party manufacturers. The closure was initially announced in 2021 and is part of a broader restructuring effort that includes partnering with Refresco for some bottling operations.
