The Coca-Cola Co. has decided to pull the plug on Zico coconut water and is scrutinizing other products in an effort to focus on products with more potential during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.
Other products under scrutiny include Coke Life and Diet Coke Freisty Cherry, and regional American brands similar to Delaware Punch and Northern Neck Ginger Ale, according to an unnamed source.
The company works with 500 totally or partially owned soda makers worldwide and is trying to cut that number in half. The paring is part of a restructuring in response to the coronavirus that also includes a new marketing strategy and some layoffs.
