For the fourth consecutive year, Coca-Cola and Merlin Entertainments have partnered to offer VIP experiences at top UK attractions in exchange for recycled plastic bottles. The initiative aims to incentivize recycling through reverse vending machines located at Merlin's various sites, according to a press release.
Visitors can win prizes by recycling an empty 500ml plastic bottle at one of the designated reverse vending machines found at most Merlin attractions, including Alton Towers Resort, Legoland Windsor Resort and Thorpe Park. Cadbury World has been added to the list of participating attractions, offering VIP prizes such as a Cadbury Character Afternoon Tea.
The ongoing partnership has already facilitated the collection of over 175,000 plastic bottles since the program's inception. This year, 12 Merlin attractions will provide prizes, including a VIP experience and behind-the-scenes tour at Sharkbait Reef at Alton Towers Resort, a VIP Giraffe Encounter at Chessington World of Adventures Resort, and a Snorkelling with Sharks Experience at Sea Life Blackpool.
"We're thrilled to continue our partnership with Merlin Entertainments for a fourth year, turning recycling into an exciting opportunity for families and thrill seekers across the UK to win fantastic prizes," Elodie Peribere, marketing director at Coca-Cola Great Britain, said in the release. "The reverse vending machines are a fun and impactful way to encourage sustainable habits while creating magical memories."
