Coca-Cola is rolling out a line of AI-driven vending machines in New Zealand that are designed to offer a faster and more personalized experience for consumers.
The machines, called Coke&Go, allow customers to open the cooler door using their smartphones and then use product recognition technology to finalize purchases through their connected payment options, according to an Inside Retail report.
The vending machines also incorporate smart inventory tracking to ensure they are stocked with the right beverages at the right time.
"It's about making refreshment more intuitive, more accessible and more aligned with how Kiwis live today," Terry Burbidge, GM of vending for Coca-Cola Europacific Partners New Zealand, told the news outlet.
Following a trial in Sydney, Coca-Cola plans to roll out several hundred of these vending machines across Australia and New Zealand over the next two years.
