Coca-Cola Consolidated Inc. will close its Seaford, Virginia, warehouse and distribution facility by Oct. 26, affecting 100 employees, according to a wydaily.com report, .
Brian Nick, company vice president, said the company plans to consolidate operations in Sandston and Norfolk. He said the sales team will continue to serve the region, but there will no longer be a warehouse facility.
Employees who are eligible will be transferred to nearby locations, he said, while some employees will be eligible for severance.
The company announced in June that it plans to invest $55 million to build a new 400,000-square-foot plant in Whitestown, Indiana. The company also acquired distribution territories and manufacturing facilities in Indiana in March 2017 from the Coca-Cola Co.
