Coca-Cola Consolidated has opened a $90 million distribution and warehouse campus in Columbus, Ohio.

The 60-acre facility, located in the Rickenbacker Industrial Center, includes a 400,000-square-foot distribution and warehouse, as well as two 15,000-square-foot buildings for equipment repair and fleet maintenance, according to a press release. The Columbus campus will enhance service to customers in Columbus and the surrounding region through advanced technology and sustainability initiatives.

"The investment we've made here in Columbus is evidence of our focus on growth in Columbus," Sam Meiner, VP, mid-west market unit at Coca-Cola Consolidated, said in the release. "This commitment to our teammates and production capabilities is a long-term dedication to improving how we serve the world's best brands and flavors to our communities and the people of Ohio."

The facility is expected to handle over 16 million cases of product annually and incorporates a semi-automated Vertique system to improve warehouse operations. The expansion has also led to the creation of 35 jobs, bringing the total workforce in Columbus to 360. In addition to distribution and maintenance operations, the campus features a sales center, wellness clinic and a learning center for employee training and development.

The company employs over 2,210 individuals across 15 facilities in Ohio.
