Coca-Cola Closes Monster Beverage Deal

ATLANTA -- Coca-Cola Co. said it has closed its previously announced partnership with Monster Beverage Corp. Coca-Cola said last September that it would pay $2.15 billion for a 16.7% stake in the Corona, CA-based energy drink giant. | READ MORE

Coca-Cola has transferred its energy drink business to Monster, including NOS and Full Throttle, and Monster transferred its non-energy beverages to Coca-Cola. They include Hansen's sodas and juice products and Peace Tea.

Monster also has made two appointments to its board of directors from Coca-Cola's ranks. Kathy N. Waller is executive vice-president and chief financial officer of Coca-Cola Co. Gary P. Fayard retired from those positions at Coca-Cola Co. last year.
