Church of Jesus Christ expands global Giving Machine initiative

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is expanding its annual Light the World Giving Machine initiative to over 100 locations worldwide, according to a press release.

The vending machines allow individuals to donate to various charitable causes.

"Light the World has evolved to become much more than a holiday message. It is a call to action, worldwide, extending the invitation to follow the example of Jesus Christ in sharing light, love, kindness and service," Elder Gary E. Stevenson, of the Church's Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, said in the release.

Since 2017, millions of dollars have been raised through the Giving Machines, with 100% of donations going directly to charitable organizations.
