Car Keys Express introduces car key vending machine

Car Keys Express, a provider of automotive key replacement, has announced Keys Now!, a fully automated vending machine that uses imaging and cutting technology to instantly duplicate and dispense automotive and residential keys, according to a press release.

The user interface and key scanner, cutter and inventory storage solution simplify key replacement for retailers and offer consumers an alternative to the time, expense and hassle of a car dealership service appointment.

Retailers can cover up to 170 million vehicles with no investment in inventory, tools or staff training. Keys Now! accepts customer payment, including Apple Pay.

"With keys easily costing $300 or $400, they're eager for more convenient, lower-cost alternatives," Mike Bliss, vice president of sales and marketing at Car Keys Express, said in the release. "Retailers love it too. Automotive keys have a much higher average selling price compared to residential keys, so we offer dramatically higher revenues."

Consumers can replace car keys — including "smart" keys and high-security "laser-cut" keys — at up to 75% off dealership prices. If required, keys are dispensed with an EZ Installer which allows the consumer to pair the new key to their vehicle with the press of a button.

Keys Now! will be available to select retailers in limited quantities beginning mid-2021.
