SAN FRANCISCO -- Cantaloupe Systems said its Seed Delivery software is now available as a standalone solution for office coffee service operations. It fulfills the need of OCS operators without vending to replace paper-based invoices with iPads, postage with email and phone ordering with self-service Web ordering.

For operators with both vending and OCS businesses, Seed Delivery is available as an add-on to Seed Office, Cantaloupe's cloud-based vending management system. The "delivery" component eliminates the need for on-premise servers and handhelds, as well as the need for paper invoicing and statements. Operators can also leverage online ordering using Seed Delivery without the need for costly IT integration.

Accent Food Services and Gulp-It Vending Inc. (both based in Houston), K&R Vending (Bridgeton, NJ)and Rendezvous Music & Vending (Eureka, CA) are among the companies using Seed Delivery for their OCS businesses.

Cantaloupe president Anant Agrawal said usage of Seed Delivery has doubled in the past three months, including both new and existing operators who now are selling more on existing routes. Usage is on track to double again before the end of 2015.

Seed Delivery includes the Seed Mobile driver handheld app for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices. Optimized for one-handed operation on these devices, Seed Mobile helps drivers service more locations in less time. It includes features like paperless invoicing with signature capture, Swipe to Pick for selecting large orders without a paper checklist and Photo Audit to capture photos of delivery locations.

"Seed Delivery has helped us integrate OCS into our vending operations and financials," said George Grabowsky, owner of Gulp-It Vending. "Our drivers carry one iPad Mini or iPod Touch device and can do everything -- from filling vending machines to entering OCS orders to capturing signatures-- right there in the device. No more messing around with paper!"

As a software-as-a-service product, Seed Delivery continues to improve, with new features coming online frequently without users having to upgrade software or pay additional fees. For example, the September 2015 release included an automated recurrent-billing feature, which automatically creates invoices for recurring charges and, if requested, routinely emails those invoices to customers. This feature can save a typical OCS operator thousands of dollars in labor and postage every year.

When Cantaloupe released Seed Delivery last year, its goal was to provide vending operators the same efficiency on the OCS side of their business that Seed Pro and Seed Office provide on the vending side, according to Cantaloupe vice-president of product Justin Grant.

"But when we released Seed Delivery for vending operators, we had unexpected demand from non-vending OCS operators who were frustrated with current OCS software solutions," Grant said. "So we built a dedicated version of Seed Delivery just for them, with a streamlined user experience not cluttered with vending features that OCS-only operators don't need."

Cantaloupe Systems will be at next week's National Automatic Merchandising Association Coffee, Tea and Water conference in Washington, DC, taking place Nov. 2-4 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center.
